Michael L. Zea

Mr. Zea is a Partner at McKinsey & Company, based out of the Firm’s Stamford, Connecticut office. He has served clients around the world, including living and working out of London for three years.

Mr. Zea’s consulting work has focused on the worldwide Travel & Logistics sector for the past 15 years, serving railroads, hotels, airlines and their service providers, car rental companies, logistics providers, trucking companies, and shipping lines. Outside of this practice area, he has worked with other distribution-based industries such as banks and telecommunications firms. Mr. Zea has led and managed over 50 engagements in areas such as strategy, operations effectiveness and process improvement, customer experience redesign, brand and product optimization, customer relationship and channel management, and organizational structure planning. Mr. Zea’s work on these topics is often published in trade journals such as Airline Business and The Handbook of Airline Marketing.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Zea worked in marketing disciplines such as sales planning, inventory management and pricing, and in operations for U.S. major airlines including United, American, and TWA. Mr. Zea holds a bachelor of science degree in aviation technology from Purdue University, and a MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management of Northwestern University. He is a private pilot and certified airframe and powerplant mechanic.
