Asbury Park, NJ has a new playground at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School!

Over 100 volunteers came out on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 to build the new playground that this community has waited over 90 years for. Directed by the installers from Kompan Playgrounds, the Alexandra’s Playground donors and supporters were joined by Our Lady of Mount Carmel School teachers, principals, staff and families, Mother of Mercy clergy and parishioners,  Interfaith Neighbors, Team Red White and Blue, T&M Associates, Rita’s Ices, Asbury Park Mayor and Council’s Office, and so many more. It really does take a village, and this inner city community is leading the way for their children.

In addition to benefiting the more than 200 students at the school, and those who attend their after school and summer programs, this playground for ages 2-12 will be open to the entire community outside of school hours. The separate areas for kids ages 2-5 and 5-12 each include places to climb, slide, play, and even make some music.
