A New Playground for East New York, Brooklyn
On Saturday November 3 more than 100 volunteers from Alexandra’s Playground and the Spring Creek Towers Community and staff from KaBOOM! came together to build a shiny new purple, green and yellow playground! This playground will serve thousands of children and their families at Spring Creek Towers, the 2nd largest federally funded housing development in the US, located in East New York, Brooklyn, NY.
It was a great day of team work, sharing with friends and family and forging of new friendships. This marks the second playground made possible by Alexandra’s Playground in 2012.
Alexandra’s Playground volunteers faced transportation challenges in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Regrettably, these challenges made it impossible for many of our volunteers to travel to participate in the build. We thank you all for your dedication and ongoing support – you were greatly missed. We look forward to seeing you at the next playground build!
