A New Playground for Freeport, NY

Alexandra’s Playground built their 14th playground this past weekend.

At 9am, volunteers from Alexandra’s Playground and the community of Freeport assembled to build a playground for kids ages 2 to 5 at the Freeport Recreation Center.

Thank you to our volunteers who came out to help us build. And a big thank you to all of our amazing donors who made the build possible.

The playground will serve the Freeport’s 40,000 residents, including 1700 children who are under age 6. The new playground will be enjoyed all summer long as residents and non-resident come to the Freeport Recreation Center to use our outdoor swimming pools. In the off-season the new playground will be fenced off from the pool area for year-round use. The playground will provide the young children of Freeport a safe place to play for many years to come.

The playground is the third one that Alexandra’s Playground gifting in the Tri-state area and one of more than fourteen that Alexandra’s Playground has either fully or partially funded in the US and developing countries, including Haiti and Afghanistan, in an effort to fulfill its vision of providing opportunities for safe active play for more children.
